It is now April 7th and many are already planting thier gardens and flowers. I continue to wait for mine as we always have a late freeze around Easter. when asked my wife stated “The grass turns green and makes the earth look new again. Rain cleans the air. The sun shines to light our days. In a few weeks is Easter. It is the time of year for reflecting and giving thanks to God for giving his only son that died on the cross for our sins.” I respect her point of view and add to it that Spring is the renewal of life, WInter is that period of the life cycle where death occurs, the freeze and snow helps life by killing the weeds and many of the active pesty insects but not completely. The seeds of the weeds and the eggs of the insects survive just as the seeds of the grass and the trees survive as do the healthy plants, trees, and animals. Then just as God raised Jesus to show the world that there is renewal of life, spring comes. God looks down and smiles, sends the rains and warms the temperature so that life can begin anew. For those that chose to not believe in God, they do believe in Spring and the renewal of life. So again I ask , What excites you about spring?
To get the full value of joy, you must have someone to divide it with. Mark Twain /phil
I have found that the older I get the more I like to toil in the soil. After the winter at the beginning of spring I love to plant and watch my garden grow. This year I tried something different, I tried using an indoor greenhouse and started seedlings in my garage. I enjoyed so much going out each day and checking to see if the seeds had germinated and after two weeks of patiently waiting the first new sprouts pop their little heads up and said hello. Not every seed I planted germinated, that’s just like life. We continually plant seeds in order to reap a rich harvest, but some fall on Fallon soil and will not germinate. The key is to continue to plant, to water, to feed and nurture in order to reap a rich harvest.
Take care of your life as you care for your garden and ye shall reap a rich harvest.
